About Us

At Watermark Insights, we're redefining how EdTech SaaS gets built to fundamentally change the speed, quality, and economics of product delivery using AI. By automating systems from production observability and support to feature delivery and verification, we’re putting our people in the conductor’s seat to drive extremely rapid delivery with the quality and thoughtfulness that our customers expect - all in service of our mission to improve higher education. There is a reason we’ve won EdTech’s Overall Higher EdTech Solution of the Year! In 2024, we celebrated being named a winner for The Edtech Breakthrough, The TITAN Business, and the Stevie Award. We’re just getting started! Our phenomenal team of people is at the heart of everything we do and we hope you’ll join us.

About The Role

We’re looking for an engineer that can help us on this journey - you will work on a small team with full agency and minimal red tape, owning entire product surfaces and driving toward a self-supporting system. This is the role for you if you’ve built your own AI productivity workflows, all your repos are full of skills, you’ve spent your career being responsible for the delivery of meaningful products and you never give up on new problems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with product management and design to own engineering and technology for a product in the Watermark suite

  • Design and ship autonomous AI systems to support the delivery, maintenance and improvement of the product

  • Monitor and continuously improve the AI systems

  • Create guardrail, evaluation, observability and feedback loop systems to ensure consistency and reliability of output

  • Own the end-to-end client experience for your product surface, from feature delivery to production reliability

  • Represent the growth team's perspective in cross-functional and leadership forums, building organizational understanding of and support for growth investments

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience across front end, back end and cloud (AWS) stacks. You’ve shipped and maintained complex, high usage systems and seen the challenges in building and supporting them.

  • Hands on experience with production delivery of AI powered functionality using agent harnesses, orchestrators, UI integrations and agent observability platforms.

  • Experience being a solo developer with full technical agency, accountable primarily to outcomes.

  • Strong AI orchestration skills - your personal workflows are run by AI, your repositories are full of skills and you raise the floor of the teams you are a part of.

  • The maturity and desire to step into a leadership role, advocate for the systems you build and help propagate them across the organization.

  • This job description is not designed to contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required. Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time.
