About The Role

The Accounting Manager will play a key role by managing our accounting processes and by mentoring the accounting staff. The Accounting Manager’s primary focus will be ensuring accurate and timely financial records & reporting in accordance with GAAP, ensuring the accounting staff remains delighted to work at Watermark, and managing the annual financial audit. Successful candidates will have a passion for accuracy, efficiency, and maintaining technical knowledge. The ideal candidate will enjoy digging into the details and implementing process improvements.

The Accounting Manager position reports to the VP, Controller.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Management of all Accounting staff and processes including General Ledger, Orders & Billings, AR, and AP
  • Assist with the completion of the annual audit and annual tax filings
  • Manage the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
  • Manage the month-end close process and meet associated deadlines
  • Review staff workpapers; identify training opportunities and provide constructive feedback
  • Perform ongoing reviews of expense and general ledger records to ensure accuracy
  • Manage the monthly sales tax filings
  • Maintain current working knowledge of all new FASB accounting standards and assist in the implementation of relevant new standards
  • Participate in the continuous improvement process; share knowledge and suggestions freely
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in an accounting function
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • CPA or CMA preferred
  • Sage Intacct experience preferred
  • Industry experience preferred, SaaS experience a plus
  • Self-motivated, critical thinker with prior experience collaborating across multiple departments
  • Highly organized, structured & process-oriented, with great attention to detail, accuracy & consistency
  • A curious mind with a passion for problem-solving

The pay range for this role is $95K – $125K and varies based on several factors including geographical location, level of experience related to the role, education/ licensure/certificates of the individual filling the role and other business and operational considerations.
