Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician I will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our manufacturing equipment and facilities. This role involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on various machinery and systems in compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and experience in a pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environment.

Monday to Friday, 6 AM to 2:30 PM

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Capable of working in a cleanroom environment and becoming proficient in donning the required gowning.
  • Manage vendors for PMs and Calibrations of critical maintenance assets as needed.
  • Develop and keep weekly schedules to meet deadlines.
  • Inventory Maintenance supplies, equipment, and tools.
  • Assist with special projects as needed (examples: New equipment installs, cleanroom updates, planned shutdowns, etc.).
  • Maintain cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) documentation, including standard operating procedures and quality control records, to ensure compliance.
  • Respond to emergency situations promptly and take necessary actions to resolve the issues.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of the cleanroom systems, including BioSafety Cabinets, scales and balances, repeater pumps, clean water systems/Water for Injection systems, Cleanroom HVAC, Chillers, Compressed Air, etc.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and troubleshooting issues reported by Operations or Quality.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks on equipment and machinery to ensure optimal functionality and longevity.
  • Keep track of maintenance records, work orders, and equipment inventory to ensure organized documentation.
  • Implement and follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for building occupants and employees.
  • Maintain and organize maintenance tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team and Manufacturing Sciences and Technology staff to address maintenance needs effectively.
  • Adhere to maintenance schedules and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and building codes.
  • Communicate effectively with building occupants and management regarding maintenance updates and work progress.
  • Support audits and inspections by providing documentation and assisting with necessary maintenance-related inquiries.
  • Provide support to the Facilities Maintenance team as required.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the company and across multiple sites.
  • Willingness to sometimes travel between sites.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Good technical aptitude and hand-on experience in maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools for various repair and installation jobs.
  • Good problem-solving abilities and the capability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Good understanding of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members, building occupants, and external contractors.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow safety guidelines and protocols meticulously.
  • Self-starter with good time management skills.
  • Skilled in essential computer applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Education and Experience:

  • Should be detail-oriented and able to follow technical instructions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent credentials.
  • Minimum 2 years of Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment required; in leu of workplace experience, an associate degree in industrial maintenance, engineering, or a related technology field.
  • Previous experience in a Pharmaceutical/FDA-regulated manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of being on your feet.
  • Prolonged periods of working both inside and outside of the building.
  • Work in cleanrooms and PPE-required environments
  • Able to work at heights with proper safety equipment/PPE
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
