Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio (SWACO) serves Franklin County and neighboring areas with solutions for solid waste. SWACO provides consumers recycling opportunities around Franklin County at our recycling drop off-locations. Our Transfer Drivers operate semi-tractor hauling trash from our transfer station to the landfill.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operate semi-tractor trailers, track hoes, scrap handlers, front-end loaders, roll-off trucks, and other equipment in a safe and courteous manner in accordance with all State of Ohio motor vehicle laws.

Secure all loads in accordance with State of Ohio motor vehicle laws.

Knowledge and understanding of DOT and ODOT laws and regulations.

Complete pre and post trip inspections on vehicles/equipment and complete required DVIR forms

Assist mechanic during the performance of basic maintenance on vehicles and equipment, including, but not limited to changing tires and retrieving parts.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Previous experience operating semi-tractor trailers,

Prior experience backing onto a Tipper preferred.

Valid Ohio Class A Commercial Driver’s License and Department of Transportation Medical Card required.
