The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, creativity in problem-solving, and a deep understanding of business fundamentals and market dynamics.
This role is critical to our M&A efforts, providing the research and analytical foundation for identifying strategic acquisition opportunities, developing investment theses, and supporting deal execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth industry and market mapping, including competitive landscape analysis, market sizing, trend identification, and value-chain analysis across assigned verticals.
- Maintain and continuously update the M&A pipeline, ensuring data accuracy, deal tracking, and timely follow-up on opportunities.
- Assist with origination efforts by identifying target companies, investors, or strategic partners aligned with our acquisition strategy.
- Support financial and business diligence, preparing company profiles, comparable company analyses, and strategic fit assessments.
- Develop concise research reports and presentation materials to support internal investment memos, executive updates, and strategy decks.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (finance, product, operations, and legal) to support deal evaluation and integration analysis.
- Generate creative solutions to improve our research, sourcing, and evaluation process—leveraging data tools, automation, and industry intelligence.
- Monitor macro and microeconomic developments relevant to target sectors.
- Support leadership in special projects such as thematic deep dives, capital market analyses, and partnership evaluations.
Preferred Experience and Background
- 1–3 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, corporate development, or M&A advisory—with exposure to deal origination or research.
- Demonstrated ability to produce structured industry landscape analyses and investment research with minimal supervision.
- Experience maintaining CRM or pipeline tools (e.g., Airtable, HubSpot, DealCloud, Salesforce, or Excel-based trackers).
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, global environment.
- Strong understanding of valuation frameworks (EV/EBITDA, revenue multiples, precedent transactions, etc.) is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
Key Skills and Competencies
- Exceptional analytical and research skills—ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights.
- Strong business acumen with a genuine interest in emerging industries and technology-driven markets.
- Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modeling (basic to intermediate level).
- Strong written and verbal communication; ability to clearly articulate findings and insights.
- Self-starter mindset with an ability to think creatively and strategically about sourcing and evaluation.
- Familiarity with data visualization or research tools (e.g., PitchBook, Crunchbase, CB Insights, CapIQ) preferred.
- Highly organized with attention to detail, reliability, and follow-through
Additional Desirable Traits
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in an evolving environment.
- Curiosity and intellectual rigor—someone who enjoys connecting the dots between industry trends, financial performance, and strategic positioning.
- Comfort working across time zones and collaborating virtually with global teams.
