Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Accountant – Financial Accounting to join our India Finance team and support accounting operations related to reAlpha’s and its subsidiaries. The role involves managing day-to-day accounting, reconciliations, and compliance activities while ensuring adherence to Indian accounting standards, US GAAP, India compliance such as i.e. GST, TDS, Income tax, Payroll taxes.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting knowledge, hands-on experience with Indian statutory compliance, and excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with both Indian and global finance teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle end-to-end accounting processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing activities.
    ● Ensure timely and accurate maintenance of books of accounts in line with Indian Accounting and US GAAP Standards.
    ● Support accounting integrations and reporting for newly acquired entities.
    ● Oversee statutory compliance related to GST, TDS, and other regulatory filings.
    ● Coordinate with auditors, consultants, and internal stakeholders for audits and statutory reporting.
    ● Prepare schedules and documentation to support financial statements and audit reviews.
    ● Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Operations, Strategy) to ensure smooth financial reporting and compliance.
    ● Assist in implementing process improvements and automation in financial workflows.

Key Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Certifications

  • CA Intermediate / MBA in Finance, Accounting, or Commerce.
    ● Strong academic or article-ship background with reputable accounting firms preferred.
    ● Education or certification in US GAAP would be preferred.

Experience

  • 4 - 5 years of hands-on experience in accounting and financial reporting; with exposure directly working with a US firm.
    ● Experience in managing GST, TDS, and other statutory compliances.
    ● Exposure to accounting processes in mid-to-large organizations or subsidiaries of multinational companies.
    ● Experience supporting post-acquisition accounting integration is a plus.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of Indian Accounting Standards and statutory compliance.
    ● Excellent command over accounting tools and ERP platforms (e.g., Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or NetSuite).
    ● Proficient in Excel and financial reconciliations.
    ● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
    ● Effective communication and collaboration abilities across teams.
    ● Organized, reliable, and proactive in managing multiple priorities.
