Role Overview

The Technical Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the company's financial practices align with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations. This role involves conducting technical accounting research, implementing new accounting standards, and providing guidance on complex accounting issues to various stakeholders within the organization, across our global subsidiaries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Accounting Research: Conduct in-depth research on complex accounting issues and provide clear, actionable guidance in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Policy Implementation: Assist in the adoption and implementation of new accounting pronouncements, ensuring compliance across all financial operations.
  • Financial Reporting: Collaborate with the financial reporting team to prepare accurate and timely financial statements and SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K.
  • Audit Coordination: Serve as a liaison with external auditors during financial audits, addressing technical accounting matters and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Provide technical accounting support to various departments, including Business Development, Commercial, R&D, Operations, Treasury, and Tax, ensuring alignment with accounting policies and procedures.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for enhancing accounting processes and controls, driving efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.

Key Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required or Chartered Accountant (CA) with exposure to US GAAP.
  • Experience: 2 - 4 years of experience in technical accounting, with at least 2 years in a publicly traded company.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Flexibility: Adapt to changes in processes and technology and staying updated with evolving accounting standards.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex accounting concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Team Collaboration: Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, global team environment.
