Our core values are to be heart-led, data-driven, and outcome-focused. Our first medical device being developed is an innovative junctional tourniquet technology being commercialized in partnership with the Ohio State Innovation Foundation (OSIF) at the Ohio State University. We aim to provide the world with the most effective, affordable, and easy-to-use junctional tourniquet to help prevent people who have suffered a junctional wound from bleeding to death. HDO Health is an accelerator portfolio company with Rev1 Ventures. We recently received a Technology Validation and Start-up Fund (TVSF) Phase 2 non-dilutive grant from the State of Ohio. In addition, we also were approved for a non-dilutive Commercialization Contract grant co-funded by Rev1 Ventures, The Ohio State University Keenan Center for Entrepreneurship, and the Ohio State Innovation Foundation.
We currently have working prototypes of our product and are entering a final design and testing phase in preparation for an FDA 510(k) submission. In addition, we are working on partnership development with contract manufacturing and distribution partners and our capital access plan in preparation for a required Seed and Series A funding round.
Required Qualifications for Applicants: We seek an independent fiduciary board member to join our existing two-member (CEO + Technical Co-Founder) Board of Directors. In addition, the intent is to add a 3rd member to balance our Board and bring additional insight, wisdom, experience, and network to our organization.
Our current focus is bringing our junctional tourniquet product to market. Accordingly, we are seeking an individual who is a servant leader and has executive experience and a documented proven track record in some or all these following areas:

Medical Device Product Development and Commercialization

Global & International Business Experience with P&L responsibility of over $100M

Strong knowledge and network in the medical device industry, including outsourced manufacturing and distribution companies and partnerships

Experience with tactical and emergency medical products and markets

Experience in building independent distribution channel partnerships

Experience working with and commercializing products in the Department of Defense (DoD), General Administration (GSA), law enforcement, and first responder ecosystems

Experience with capital access planning and execution
-
Strong potential investor network

Financial acumen
-
Experience in strategic planning

Experience with regulatory filings and intellectual property related to medical devices

Demonstrated knowledge and competence in private company governance (Private Directors Association Certification or Equivalent Preferred)
