Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented and motivated student Software Engineering Intern to join our dynamic team of skilled professionals. As an intern, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software critical to the success of our hardware solutions. You will support the design and development of new and exciting solutions created by the company. You will collaborate with an experienced (and fun) group of engineers, computer scientists, and support staff to ensure the company delivers quality solutions to our customers.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware design and software application design teams, on the design and production of custom hardware/software asset tracking solutions

• Design testing environments for the evaluation and debugging of software systems

• Integrate software components and third-party libraries

• Troubleshoot and debug software issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.

• Stay up to date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in embedded software development and radio frequency hardware, applying them to optimize our development processes.

Required Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering or related fields

• Proven experience, through school projects, hobbies or work, in either embedded software development (including microcontroller programming, chip-level programming, driver installation, firmware design and configuration) or full-stack software development (including AI/ML, databases, cloud integration, web development)

• Proficiency in a low-level programming language such as C++ or Rust or proficiency in a scripting language such as Python or JavaScript.

• Solid understanding of agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git).

• Proven experience in software development, with a strong understanding of software engineering principles, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns

• Typical soft skills necessary to succeed in team- and deadline-oriented environments

Preferred Qualifications:

-Experience with embedded software development of radio frequency hardware components and devices (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LoRaWAN, 5G)

-Experience with AI/ML development in Python for solving complex problems

• Experience with hardware design, board schematics and layout, Altium

• Familiarity with software development frameworks and tools (e.g. Flask, React) and experience with database management systems (e.g., Postgres, MongoDB)
