Summary

This job is responsible for providing human resources leadership for our R&D and Sales organization. This role will serve as a local subject matter expert for all human resources, talent management and employee relations. The HR Manager (f/m/d) will lead a team of two HR Generalists (f/m/d) in Berlin.

Responsibilites of this role:

  • Execute all day-to-day operations related to staffing, talent management and employee relations
  • Collaborate with R&D and sales organisation to understand and execute the HR and talent strategy in relation to current and future talent needs, recruitment, retention and succession planning
  • Serves as the HR subject matter expert for Novanta's annual processes (performance management, talent and succession planning, compensation planning) to ensure effective deployment and achievement of business objectives
  • Serves as a member of the leadership team and provides guidance and direction to team members on human resources matters
  • Formulate learning and development programmes and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities
  • Analyses trends in compensation; researches competitive salary programmes to ensure that the company attracts and retains top talent
  • Identify opportunities to improve human resources policies and procedures
  • Provides business and functional guidance and advice on the implementation of various human resources activities and business measures in compliance with local labour laws and customs

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required

Professional Requirements

  • Minimum of five years' human resource management experience (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired).
  • Comprehensive understanding of common human resources processes, and practices in a manufacturing or retail environment
  • Thorough knowledge of employment laws and regulations
  • Very good knowledge of English (min. C2) and good knowledge of German (min. B2)
  • Competent handling of Microsoft Office Suite
