Optical Test Engineer – Optical Systems

We are seeking a OpticalTest Engineer to join our team in Stockport, at our laser design and manufacturing site.

Primary Responsibilities
Design and create test equipment for optical systems and sub-systems.
Creating and implement test plans.
Efficient and accurate data capture.
Design tests and equipment to validate customer requirements.
Ensure internal and external quality requirements are captured and met.
General problem solving.
Data analysis, presentation & report writing.
Support new products through the NPI process.
Conducting and contributing to literature reviews.
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
As an ideal candidate for the role of Test Engineer, you should have:
A degree in Physics / Engineering or related field is advantageous.
Experience of working with optical systems, ideally in a hands-on and lab-based environment.
Experience of working with hardware & automated systems controls.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience of data processing & analysis.
Good problem-solving skills.
Desirable:
Knowledge of systems engineering (desirable).
Programming ability (desirable).
Understanding / experience with international and industrial standards (desirable).
Low voltage or machinery directive.
EMC directive.
Electronics exposure (desirable).
